#1: Orient yourself

How it works:

• ID where you are

• ID where you want to be

Before you can get anywhere it’s handy to know where you are.

#2: Observe

How it works:

Look for examples of people who

• have done what you want to do

• gone where you want to go

• are open to sharing with you

Quick note: don’t follow their advice. That’s a mistake. Copy their approach/actions.

Do as they do not as they say.

#3: Decide

How it works:

Take the info you’ve gathered about what works, and decide what approach makes sense for you

• Avoid blind copying

• Experiment instead

• If you avoid irrelevant actions and keep an open mind, you’ll unlock progress.

Simple, right?

#4: Act

How it works:

• Put your custom plan into action

• Pay attention to your results

• Repeat this loop

Do these 4 things, and you’ll put yourself in the best position to move your career forward.
